School details:

This is a smaller than average, mixed, secondary school with approximately 500 students on roll. Ofsted rated ‘Good’.

Role:

  • Ability to teach Maths to KS3 and KS4
  • To consistently teach lessons which engage, challenge and support all students.
  • Ability to design teaching materials to sustain students’ interest in the subject.
  • Interact with students, parents and faculty.
  • Facilitate classroom procedures.
  • Set culture standards for learning.
  • Monitor students’ progress in the subject.
  • Ability to follow planned schemes of work to a high standard.

Experience, Qualifications and Training:

  • We seek a qualified and enthusiastic teacher of Maths
  • Must have QTS, QTLS, PGCE or equivalent
  • Previous teaching experience
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential).  Training will be provided.

  • Be self-motivated, detail-oriented and adaptable

Eligibility to work in a teaching role:

  • Holds Right to Work in the UK
  • Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
  • Enhanced DBS certificate which is either on the online ‘Update Service’ or be willing to apply for a new DBS certificate

Suitability to work with children and young people will form part of the selection process.  As part of the shortlisting process an online search will be carried out.  All appointments will be subject to vetting, including an enhanced DBS check.  It is an offence to apply for a role if the applicant is barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
