QT Education is seeking an Ethics and Philosophy Teacher for a large and highly successful 11-18 comprehensive secondary school in North Somerset, approximately eight miles outside Bristol. This includes a thriving Sixth Form of nearly 400 students that is strongly integrated into the school and offers significant opportunities for Post-16 teaching in over 30 courses. This is an ‘Outstanding’ rated school by Ofsted.
Role:
- The successful candidate will be enthusiastic and be actively involved in continuing to develop Ethics and Philosophy within the school throughout the age and ability range including A-level and GCSE exam classes.
- Outstanding teaching skills, with a clear awareness of current issues and the ability to inspire the highest achieving students
- High expectations and commitment to high standards of behaviour
- Willingness to be involved in trips and educational visits
- Ability to form excellent relationships with pupils, parents and colleagues
- An enthusiasm to push standards higher through developing new resources and schemes of learning
Experience, Qualifications and Training:
- We seek a qualified and enthusiastic teacher of Ethics and Philosophy
- Must have QTS, QTLS, PGCE or equivalent
- Previous teaching experience
- Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential). Training can be provided.

Eligibility to work in a teaching role:
- Holds Right to Work in the UK
- Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
- Enhanced DBS certificate which is either on the online ‘Update Service’ or be willing to apply for a new DBS certificate
Suitability to work with children and young people will form part of the selection process. As part of the shortlisting process an online search will be carried out. All appointments will be subject to vetting, including an enhanced DBS check. It is an offence to apply for a role if the applicant is barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
