QT Education is keen to recruit a science teacher for a co-educational, non-denominational secondary school in Bridgwater, Somerset. There are currently 975 students aged 11-16 on the school roll.
The school is housed in a wonderful building completed in 2012 and boasts fantastic facilities. The school environment provides every opportunity for students to learn and achieve.
Role:
- Ability to teach Physical Education up to GCSE level
- To deliver the curriculum to pupils within a KS3 and 4
- To help to ensure that all the children in KS3 and 4 are able to learn and achieve to the best of their ability
- To maintain the positive ethos and core values of the school, both inside and outside the classroom
- To support initiatives decided by the Principal and staff
- To plan appropriately to meet the needs of all pupils, through differentiation of tasks
- To be able to set clear targets, based on prior attainment, for pupils’ learning
- To provide a stimulating classroom environment, where resources can be accessed appropriately by all pupils
- To keep appropriate and efficient records, integrating formative and summative assessment into weekly and termly planning
Experience, Qualifications and Training:
- We seek a qualified and enthusiastic teacher of PE
- Must have QTS, QTLS, PGCE or equivalent
- Previous teaching experience required – suitable for ECT’s or experienced teachers
- Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential)

Eligibility to work in a teaching role:
- Holds Right to Work in the UK
- Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
- Enhanced DBS certificate which is either on the online ‘Update Service’ or be willing to apply for a new DBS certificate
Suitability to work with children and young people will form part of the selection process. As part of the shortlisting process an online search will be carried out. All appointments will be subject to vetting, including an enhanced DBS check.
