Role:

  • Excellent subject and curriculum knowledge
  • To undertake a designated programme of teaching, plan, structure, and resource teaching and learning effectively. To ensure a high-quality learning experience for all students
  • To use a variety of delivery methods which will stimulate learning appropriate to meet all student needs and demands of the syllabus
  • Commitment to managing behaviour in effective ways to ensure an effective and safe learning environment

Experience, Qualifications and Training:

  • We seek a qualified and enthusiastic teacher of English
  • Must have QTS, QTLS, PGCE or equivalent
  • Previous teaching experience
  • Up to date Safeguarding training issued in the last year (desirable however not essential). Training can be provided.

Experience / Attributes:

  • Degree in appropriate subject including Qualified Teacher Status (QTS)
  • Suitable for ECT’s and experienced teachers
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Strong problem-solving and decision-making ability
  • Be self-motivated, detail-oriented and adaptable
  • Confident ICT skills
  • Confident using positive behaviour management strategies
  • Good understanding of supporting SEN students
  • Demonstrates a commitment to safeguarding and well-being of children and young people

Eligibility to work in a teaching role:

  • Holds Right to Work in the UK
  • Provide two professional child related references that cover the last two years
  • Enhanced DBS certificate which is either on the online ‘Update Service’ or be willing to apply for a new DBS certificate

Suitability to work with children and young people will form part of the selection process.  As part of the shortlisting process an online search will be carried out.  All appointments will be subject to vetting, including an enhanced DBS check.  It is an offence to apply for a role if the applicant is barred from engaging in regulated activity relevant to children.
